Story
My name is Bori Gheorghita, and I’m the artist and maker behind Woods of Wonder. Originally from Hungary, my love of nature and travel has taken me to many places, most notably a few magical years in Scotland. I’m now based in Lyon, France, where I live and work surrounded by new inspiration.
I first studied sculpture restoration at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, and later spent a year at the Glasgow School of Art, focusing on sculpture. Even during my studies, I gravitated toward natural materials like clay, wood, and stone, and my artistic practice has always been deeply rooted in nature.
Woods of Wonder began in 2017 as a simple hobby, creating handmade gifts for friends and family. Over time, that hobby grew into a full-time creative business rooted in my deep admiration for the natural world. Each piece is inspired by forests, rivers, wildlife, and the quiet magic found in nature’s smallest details.
Every item in my collection is crafted by hand, from sculpting and painting to photography, packaging, and running my online shop and social media. Woods of Wonder is a true one-person studio, where I personally oversee each step to ensure thoughtful, high-quality pieces that reflect the care and joy behind them.
I hope that my work reaches out to other nature enthusiasts, animal lovers, and those seeking to bring the touch of the wild to their lives.
Philosophy
I take pride in my commitment to sustainability and responsible craftsmanship.
All the wooden pins, key-chains and necklaces are made from eco-friendly, responsibly sourced, fast growing maple veneer. Each wooden creation is a small piece of nature, crafted with love and imbued with the essence of the forest.
With every purchase, you not only support responsible craftsmanship but also invite a touch of nature's enchantment into your life.
